Let me begin by saying that if anyone has any suggestions or additions please comment. I'm going to make a suggestion on how men keep their pubes based on their sizes and some other factors. It is important to note that I am partial to male pubic hair, not a huge fan of the shaved look, but I will make the best suggestions I can offer based on the look of your dick. Ultimately the the choice comes down to you and your partner. Lets begin with size:

7 inches and less: Keep your pubes, trim if you want to but do not shave. It is a myth to think that shaving makes you look bigger, if you are not huge then you need to keep your pubes unless you want your dick to look like a baby dick.

8-10 inches: This size range allows for a lot of flexibility, on one hand if you want to look bigger, you may want to keep them down, on the other hand, pubes enhance manliness. Here I would go for a trim, a happy medium. A nice design is always fun too.

10 inches plus: Here you probably shouldn't keep your pubes all natural. I like them all natural but for most girls at this size any enhancement of manliness here is intimidating, also your pubes might look strange if you hang super low.

Other factors to consider:

Circumcision: If you are not circumcized your dick looks very rugged. I would suggest longer pubes to enhance this.

Thickness: The thicker your dick, the longer your pubes should be if you choose to keep them, buzzed is not a good look for really thick men.

Personally, I don't like pubic hair at all. I don't like it women, and I can't stand it on myself.
Also, for men with oily skin, it's advisable to have as little body hair as possible. When I was younger, my skin was REALLY oilly, so shaving my chest and cock was just hygienic. Nowadays, I upkeep it because of personal preference.
