- because it is way too easy for someone to obtain an address from a phone number and there are too many freaks on a site like this. We need to be safety consious.

I know it's an old thread and everything, but I feel the need to state this point blank: To a lot of women, asking for phone is creepy; particularly (as L2L mentions) if you haven't first laid the groundwork for a relation that extends beyond vague, internet-acquaintanceship.
And don't be persistent about it. I can't tell you how many times we've cut and run on someone for asking more than once.

- you have to start it out like any other relationship. start out by talking and then after a while, ask for her number. start with an email exchange and go from there.
